Problems with PC headset mic.

A bunch of my guild members in WoW started using Ventrilo, so I bought a headset so I could talk to them. The sound works fine in the headphones but I can't get the mic to work. I went into Windows control panel and tested the mic and it isn't reading anything at all. Could it be something wrong with Sound Blaster, such as a driver? I really have no idea with this, and yes, I'm pretty sure the plugs are in the right ports. Thanks guys, any help is appreciated.

I had the same problem with my Logitech USB PS2 headset. I could hear, but couldn't say.

Go into Ventrilo's setup and change the Output Device setting to your headset, not Default Driver or whatever other options are there.

No guarantees, but it should work.
