The Horrible Game Rant Topic (not spam)

I was looking at my game rack and noticed quite a few games that are so horrible I thought I would post about them, so thus! the Horrible Game Rant Topic! The idea is you take a horrible game and say what you hate about it and post it.

Anyways I think one game that deserves a dishonorable mention is the 2001 PS2 game Wave Rally. I don't know how I obtained this most horrible distasteful, boring, bland, pointless, and frustrating game, but it ended up in my possesion somehow.

The whole game is about the sport of jet skiing! The first time I picked it up and started playing I entered a race (that's all you can do in it, race), and when the 3, 2, 1.. GO sequence ended I sat helplessly at the starting line angrily mashing buttons in an attempt to move forward. All the damn guy would do was "hop" forward a bit, and occasionally fall off, even though he was going a whooping 0 MPH.

Eventually I figured out how to move, and continued the race, although now I was a good 20 or 30 miles behind the participants. For about one day I played this game, the tricks were lame and incredibly hard to execute, and no matter how hard pushed that damned X button I wouldn't go any faster then and golf cart. Soon after I ejected the game and since then it had sat alone on my game rack.

Another game that I can't forget it Spider-Man 2 for the Game Cube. If any of you have read Nintendo Power, you'd know that the magazine is incredibly biast. Their review was no different. Claiming the game had a free style of play and tons of action car chasing to be done, I went to EB games and picked it up for 9 bucs, surprising cheap for a new game I thought, boy was I wrong.

Upon opening it and putting it into my gamecube, I started off on top of a tall building and proceeded to jump off, perhaps this was my fault, because I hadn't checked to see what button sprayed Spidey's web. I continued to fall to the ground and eventually met the concrete. I died instantly. Bystanders took the oppertunity to yell at me and make fun of me. It was humiliating.

The rest of the game wasn't much better. The "exciting" car chase scenes, were indeed difficult, mainly because the car moved so slow it was hard not to run past it. Every "job" the citizens give you in the game is lame and boring. They range forr "save my baloon!" to "He took my purse!" to the infamous (and often overly repeated) "Help I'm being attacked by thugs.

A few months later The same company that made Spider Man 2 came out with a new Spider Man, this one called Spider Man Legends or somthing. I heard it was good, but I'm not taking my chances.

You ever play Wave Race 64? Best Jet-ski game I'll ever play. GameCube sequel was a little disappointing, though.

I heard the PS2 and (especially) Xbox versions of Spider-Man 2 were considered games that broke the "bad games based on movies" mold. Maybe you should've got one of them.

Bad games that I currently own? I don't. I always get rid of games I don't like. A few I look back and figure that they weren't all bad, but most I've gotten rid of due to sucktitude were good riddance.

I actually didn't mind Spiderman 2. I hadn't reviews or anything, so I didn't know what to expect, but that was probably for the best.

Probably the worst game I own is Tony Hawks American Wasteland. FREAKING STUPID. All in the ultimate goal to reduce loading times down to 0, they sacrificed a LOT of graphics and gameplay. And, it still had loading times, wtf. They only thing I noticed was that they hid them by making them as fast as possible and have your guy do something while you wait.

The graphis were some of the worst I've seen for the modern day consoles. Any computer skaters and such lagged SERIOUSLY. And they didn't even move realisticly. They moved in segments, not as a single motion.

THUG 1 was awesome, with the story and the park creator, so AW was a major disapointment. They had cut the park editor options into fourths, and the story.... was there even really a story? You're on a bus... Talking to this chick... you get off the bus... some guy takes your stuff... you sock him in the face... you end up getting involved with the big skate ranch project... get stuff... Aaaand that's about it.

The game was just plain stupid. They talked stupid too. "We're gettin some stuff for the SKATE RANCH!" "STICKER SLAP to MANUAL to WALLPLANT!!!!

I can't believe I let my bro talk me in to buying it.

Ok i got custom robo for the gamecube. I think i bought it with a gift card that was about to expire. Anyhow it manages to mix dull and stupid gameplay with a weak little story, they allow you some mainly useless new weapons armor and robo types, long boring and ugly cutscenes that uphold the very interesting story, and then they see fit to drop all that on a world map that happens to be entirely useless since there is only one place to go at any given time and there aren't random encounters or anything like that.

Honestly, the bomb weapons where almost entirely useless seeing as how they tend to miss everything, the "pods" are pretty much missiles that, unless they have some of the best homing in the game are just as likely to hit you as your opponent. They give you a lot of guns but only few are usefull.

I just can't bring myself to go into what they choose to call the story, but when you beat the game you are rewarded with of course the worst parts in the entire game. Then just when you think the fun is over they give yo a new play mode where you can fight for no reason but to record the parts you used.

The only reason some might like this game is for the infinite list of stratagies, including mashing the b button, moving left and right, jumping, dashing, or getting killed when you don't.

To anybody who doesn't like the gamecube, convincing a friend to buy this game, would be both an exelent way for you to tell them how much the cube sucks, and a pretty funny prank to play on them, especially if they owe you money.
        I don't have a signature.
        OK maybe I do.
But I'm just holding it for a friend I swear.

I've never played wave-race, but I know that wave rally is stupid. And maybe I was too critical of Spider-Man 2. It wasn't too horrible I guess, but it was a bit repetitive and watered down, and the chase scenes were sooooo slow.

As for another stupid/horrible game, a few years back I bought a spy-type game called "Traitors Gate", maybe some of you have heard of it? Basically the idea of the game is that someone is going to steal the crown jewls so you must steal them first. Tou start off in a supply closet with some crap items, a PDA that freezes the game when you try to access it, and no cluse what your doing. I got as far as out of the closet before I dumped it.

I agree, Custom Robo was pretty stupid, plot-wise. But, the multiplayer is so much fun, one of the better sides of the game. Me, my friend, my bro, and my bros friend would play that game for hours just for the heck of it.

I love Spiderman2 for the GCN(really they are all the same for all the systems with the exceptiopn of graphics and load times), the PC version is what sucked arse.

You need to either READ THE MANUAL, or use the tutorials.

Not making fun of you or be mean, just common sence H2SO4. You can't blame a game because you wont take the time to learn how to play it. It's like trying to make a good game in RPGM2 without learning how to use the coding. It just wont work.

Bad games, I would have to say Baulders Gate: Dark Allience and Terminator 3. BG was visually stunning but lacked in the gameplay department and the story, and T3 was just overall bad.

Dark Alliance was one of the most fun gaming experiences I've had. I guess it's a game you have to play with a friend?

One of my friends picked up Big Mutha Truckers a few days ago.

                  And I laughed at him.

I think the worst game I ever bought was Largo Winch. It had a moderately interesting plot, but the gameplay and graphics were horrible. Fortunately, it was only $10.

Rengoku is the worst game made for PSP. The levels are boring, the gameplay is repetitive, and there's lots of level building for such a short game. I think the plot and music are the only redeeming qualities, and most other people here would disagree with me on that.

I'm another who liked Dark Alliance. It wasn't bad at all. Granted it did feel a little repetetive after a little while, and the plot isn't spoonfed like FF, but it isn't bad.

Rengoku seemed like the coolest game on PSP.

                      I wanted that. =(

Wait for Rengoku 2, it's supposed to be much better.

I think every time someone says they hate a game, someone posts saying how good the particular game was.

I understand that this is not a horrible game in the same sense(read: poorly made) as the others on this list, but...

                            FFX-2.

Most people know my beef with it, but for the benefit of those who haven't heard, I'll condense it.

Last week I beat FFX. I forgot how damn bittersweet the ending is. I actually cared for these characters. Enter FFX-2. I find myself telling the characters to "just shut up". I wanna kick Brother in the nuts, and tell Paine to go take a damn bowl of Zoloft and shut up.

SO WHY AM I PLAYING IT AGAIN?

Simply put, the battle system, and the fact that I'm incredibly bored.

                            It's a conundrum, you see?

My friend picked up Final Fantasy x-2 a month ago.

And learned a new word. "Disasterrific."
