I've messed with everything from RPG Maker 1 to 3 and RPG Maker 2003 and XP, but so far RPG Maker 3 for PS2 has to be my favorite. Rather than fully commit to one, I had to wait for something 3D because Elder Scrolls 3 spoiled me like hell. Characters don't show what armor they equip but at least they show the weapons. Not to mention the field editor is the best so far for this series.
Sure there are some compromises to make but it seems worth it to me. Text isn't all fudged up like they is on the PC versions, and the whole thing is meant to be more user-friendly. Still don't understand variables but I think I might be willing to commit if some nice person linked me to a good explanation.
Got some good ideas for games that aren't established tributes, but how do you share them online? That might be another good link to share. Personally, I'd love to see an RPG Maker that showed equipped armor as well as weapons. So should I wait a little while longer?
