    Street Fighter Alpha Anthology

Picked this up today at Bestbuy. Definitely a good walk down memory lane. Super Gem Fighter Mini mix is also in there.

Not sure why, but they made the option of editing colors on a character hidden, but it's always a fun thing to screw around with.

It also inludes the option of installing the game to the HDD, so loading times are non-existant. Which is awesome!

The games are all arcade perfect, and have extra modes like survival, dramatic battles (basically 2 players against 1 CPU), training mode. My only complaint is with Alpha 3. It's missing the World Tour mode, and (AND!!!) does not have the extra characters Fei Long, Deejay, T.Hawk, Guile, Eagle, Ingrid, and Maki. The last three characters I don't mind so much being absent, but when the Anthology itself has pictures of Fei Long on the box art, and him with Deejay and T.Hawk for the image when you choose to play Alpha 3, one would expect them to actually be in it.

*edit* Ok, forgot Yun was in Alpha 3 Max, but he's not important enough for me to care about him not being in alpha 3*

    Anyway, overall, I love it.

Oh, and while I was Best Buy, I also bought Beat Down. Despite the bad reviews, you can't go wrong with a brand new copy for only $10. Been meaning to buy that one anyway, glad I didn't rush when it first came out.

It's a great game. I always end up playing Alpha 2 the most.
Despite what you think, I am very, very real.

I enjoy Alpha 3. I think it is the best SF game that isn’t SFIII: Third Impact.

        Fixed.

All in all, I can't say I liked alpha 3, nor any other Alpha series games. But SF3 is great. So, I'm going to shut up now.

SFA3 for PS1 is my favorite Street Fighter. I couldn't get into Third Strike for some reason. It has better graphics, but it feels a little slower. But it apparantly has really good balance. I haven't gotten heavily into it and the game schematics, so I can't confirm or deny how good it is. I just know that to me, SFA3 is the best.

Smurv, I should hook you up with mame and so that I can DESTROY YOU.

Whenever I replace my packet dropping modem that is.

You would destroy me too. HORRIBLY.

I am not a tournament-worthy gamer. I may post stories of how easy games are, but that's cause I'm playing the game, not another person. I've completely blown away almost every game I've ever played. There is next to no challenge in any of them. But if I have to play a human... I can't hang with the big dogs. Yeah, I can beat all my friends. I may know how to successfully pull off a triple reverse backwards cancel super attack or whatever the hell is in these games... but at the core of it all, I wouldn't make it past Round 1 in a tournament. Jack of all trades, master of none.

I enjoy games, that's about it.

You'd probably enjoy it, the SFA3 community is alright online, except for a few dickheads.

Most people gave me pointers and stuff, and actually tried to answer me when I asked "What the hell am I doing wrong?"

Doesn't MAME have 50 billion files you have to install, and then get a sfa3 iso somewhere? I'd be really interested in playing it if I knew how to set it up.

                          They are

But there is a condition in which you must fulfill first. You must beat Alpha 3 at least once and save your file. After that, go back to the main game selection screen, highlight Alpha 3 from the menu, hold down Select and then press Start. You will have unlocked Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, which includes Fei Long, T Hawk, Deejay, Guile, Juli, Jumi, Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma (I think) as playable fighters.

Unfortunately, there's still no World Tour mode. It appears that was exclusive to the Dreamcast and PlayStation versions, I believe.

does dramatic battle count as beating the game? Cuz me (Dan) and Blanka kicked ass together.

I think you have to beat it once in Arcade mode to get it unlocked. I only played Arcade mode at the time and didn't experiment with Dramatic Battle yet.
