Does being in love and listening to love songs make a guy emo/gay? I get called that all the time by random people at school. I really want to know, because I think I'm normal, but I can't help feeling the ignorance of people around me since my school doesn't allow ipods in school, and I can't drown their stupidity out.

I know I have asked questions like this in the past, and they all have ended pretty badly, but please no negative comments, alright? I don't feel like arguing over "You shouldn't post stuff like this in a videogame forum" and whatnot.

No. listening to emo music and pretending you're the only person in the world with problems, and talking about killing yourself over minor issues would make you emo.

Listening to love songs makes you sappy. Loving a guy makes you gay. Both are fine.

The modern definition of emo is based on listening to "emo" bands and acting like valk said. Even then, modern emo bands aren't even emo. Emo was a kind of hardcore music, and isn't that sappy at all. Oh, how misconceptions arise. XD

It's with a girl. And emo? Eh, it wouldn't bother me, except that emos are kinda gross lookin'.

But, one of my friends big brother was called gay because he listens to love songs as well.

Is it that wrong to for a guy to listen to the Isley Brothers "Between the Sheets" and some Michael Jackson songs? I get called crap because I listen to MJ at school as well. High school is no fair. I can't win unless I turn into a generic student, sagging pants/too tight pants, listens to ONLY rap/listens to ONLY rock.

Was high school like this for anyone else?

High School sucks. Just worry about getting your diploma (or GED) and getting the hell out of there, the rest of it is irrelevant.

I kinda don't want to get through high school that fast though. I want to savor every moment I have because I feel as if I'll be lonely as hell afterwards. And plus after high school is basically the end of fun for me. When my bro Kumo got outta school this year, I was terrified. Because I feel as if everything will be no fun anymore, and nothing but work once I graduate.

I try to enjoy being a teenager and I try to do teenager things, like hang with friends and stuff like that. But, since no body has any money in my group of friends we can't go any where, and plus most of my friends are grounded into hell anyway. We can't hang at lunch, because we all have different lunches, and classes. I want to make real connections with my friends and the girl I love, but they are bound by their ignorance and foolish perceptions of life.

And these people at my school **** me off. While ditchin' a period (I know I shouldn't ditch but I knew I'd get into trouble sleeping in class) I hung out in the bathroom stalls, with my backpack on the floor. Someone comes in and gets done using the bathroom and actually tries to snatch my bag from under the stall. Luckily I grabbed it fast enough, and he ran off. Ugh, people are low.
