    Friggin' windows media player

For whateevr reason its started freezing up about 10seconds into any video I try to watch, or as soon as I try to skip ahead to any point in the video. Even does it with DVDs. I tried uninstalling it, and reinstalling it. Does the same thing. Updated to Windows Media Playe 11 Beta 2. Does the same damn thing.

Uninstall that, and put 10 back on. SAME THING.

Too bad alot of my video codecs dont work with windows media classic. Any ideas as to why it has decided to do this, or how to fix it?

    Wait a few days.

When windows won't play a file, I use VLC media player.

        what format is it?

if it's the .mkv format, its because its just a buggy format thats incompatible with damn near everything.

Media Player Classic with the Matroska codec pack. Runs everything for me smoothly and nicely.

VLC is also nice, but it had a nasty tendency to constantly crash my system.

I had the same problem a few days ago. It's really slow to buffer.

            Then it just went away.

Same for me. I try to avoid it though, because any vid of mine that plays only in VLC doesn't convert very well.

Its not just a specific file type. It was all fine a few days ago, but it just decided to stop working with anything at all.

That's weird... Something similar has happened when I play Quicktime. No matter what I do, they won't play. Heck, they work on my crappy compy, so why don't they work on this one???

So I have no clue what's going on, but I have a similar problem.

Once again, grab the Matroska codec pack.
