    TONY JAA WANT ELEPHANT BACK

    Listen up you screwheads.

Any of you schlubs remember my BEST OF MOVIES LIST? Of 2005? No? **** YOU.

Well, Tom Yum Goong a.k.a. The Elephant Warrior a.k.a. THE PROTECTOR was, like, on it. It's (one of) the greatest action movie(s) ever made.

    And it's out this weekend.

    See it.

    Or I'll KILL you.

I think I'm seeing Gridiron Gang instead.

    WOOO PRISON FOOTBALL IN TEXAS!!!

Wasn't that like, done before in another state in another movie? I remember that one being funny and relevant.

Anyway, I think saw a clip of that movie, where jaa was like, fighting some capoiera guy.

I don't know. But this one is about Texas football so it's better.

If you enjoyed the crippling elbows and knees The Protector has so, so, so much more.

That truly was a great part of the movie.

I love all the head cracking he did to the drugged up dude near the end in Ong Bak.

Hopefully I'll get some money to see The Protector.

So I saw it tonight with the biggest group of friends ever. 16 or so people including me, that's more than a damn row. We, as well as a group of cool black guys behind us, OWNED the crowd.

Despite some of the movie's edits and some unfortunate dubbing - the broken English was hilarious, why fix it?! - I had a ****ing blast.

Best movie of the year. AGAIN.

My local paper called it a contender for worst movie of the year.

for story, yes. plus, it seemed to be edited to hell.

however, for fights, being a fight movie, it was just so super.

                          (Mild spoiler alert.)

So I saw this on Saturday and dragged my little sister along. The story was a little thin, but really that's not why you go to this type of movie. It was almost pure ass-kicking from the word go. I thought the continuous fight up the spiral stairwell was incredible...there's just so many things that could go wrong in a shot like that, it boggles the mind.

I also liked the buddhist temple fightin', it reminded me of Game of Death, and that's never a bad thing. And the bone-breaking orgy toward the end...I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cheer, but it was a hoot.

I thought the CG was garbage and better if it had been left out of the movie entirely, but that's something I'm prepared to overlook.

The CG dream sequence is laughable. Actually, a lot of laughable and that just adds so much more to the fun.

The fight up the stairway took 8 takes over a period of... a month? Two weeks? I don't remember the exact time frame but it was certainly an arduous shoot. Well worth it. That sequence is technical gold.

I was a little disappointed to see some favorite parts edited out. Mainly, when one of the huge dudes throw the elephant they cut out the shot of the elephant going through glass. They also dubbed over the police cop, Mark, who, in the original actually speaks hilarious broken English. He speaks English but it's so clipped and accented it's unintelligible. It's GREAT. I hope they include the original cut in the DVD.

                            Glad SOMEONE enjoyed it.

How come when it's a movie you like you're forgiving of it's faults but for movies you don't like you find their faults crippling?

Am I right or am I right?
