    RAM question.

Well I might get a new computer soon, though I'm not sure. I need one badly but if it doesn't seem like I will get one within the next couple of months I'm just going to get a small RAM upgrade until I am able to get a new computer.

Now shopping for RAM is harder then I thought and I have a few questions but I was wandering who to ask and then it occured to me. Why not ask the people on the Pav. So um heres what I know so far.

The Computer is a Toshiba, V3100

So far it has 63MB of RAM.

After two computer scans on two different websites I'm almost completely sure the maximum RAM is 512.

Not sure on the RAM type but its most likely PC100.

And I have almost no clue what the interface is but I'm thinking SODIMM or DIMM but I'm probably wrong.

Anyways can you guys give me any help on finding out what the RAM type and interface is?

    Re: RAM question.

Well I'll google your computer in a bit but most likely it is DIMM if it's a desktop, SODIMM is typically for laptops. As for what PC number it is that is very important, as that will determine what speed you PC can handle and detect. Getting faster may still work, but you won't get the speed benefit so not real reason to. Also you have to get the same type SDR RAM (PC 66-133), DDR(PC 2100-4800), or DDR2(PC2 3200-8500).

So really that's the 3 things you need, is it DIMM (Desktop) SO-DIMM (Laptop), what type it is SDR, DDR, DDR2, and what max speed you computer can handle PC #.

      Re: RAM question.

      These should fit your needs

Any 168-pin pc100 sdram should work for your model.
