I'm probably getting it next week or the week after depending when I get some money. I've been excited for it since I first heard about it. Then I heard it was all touch screen controlled and I got worried but the reviews have been pretty good and from what I've heard the controls work pretty well. I'll post my code when I get it.
I'm very hesitant about getting another Star Fox game, after having played Star Fox Adventures.

Aside from it being entirely too lacking in the starfighter simulation element it wasn't too bad. I'm not sure how I like the child-oriented direction they took after the first game, though. Too much cuteness for my liking.
It sounds to me like the controls will be a little awkward. I gerally like to either use the touch screen OR the control buttons, not both simultaneously. I mainly want to know if there's a way to limit the touch screen use.
I got it and I played it for a few hours last night and it's good. It's not great but, it's good. It has some issues but, it is fun. Let me break it down for you.
The controls definitely take some getting used to. At first I thought that the aiming was way too sensitive but, I think that's because you're not using the whole bottom screen to aim. You're just using the square in the middle. On the left side you have a button to do a 360 in the air and on the right side you have a button for bombs and 180s. You double tap on the top half of the screen to boost, double tap on the bottom half to use your air breaks, and make a zigzag line from right to left to right to do a barrel roll to the right and the other way to do a barrel roll to the left. Every button on the DS is used to fire, including the d-pad.
This setup works pretty well and I like not having to use L to fire like in MPH. I just use the d-pad. It feels kind of weird at first but, I like it now. I think the biggest issue with the controls is the barrel rolls. Sometimes you do a barrel roll without wanting to. It's not too bad though. You can still fire while doing a barrel roll and items in the air come flying towards you and you deflect enemy fire when you do one.
I wish they would have included some more control options but, all you can do is change your aiming to inverted. (up = down, down = up) We know StarFox worked with a controller like the one on the DS on SNES so, it would have been nice if they had included the option.
Damn, I didn't think I was going to write so much about the controls. Well, the Command part comes in before the actual battles. You play a little strategy game and draw a flight path for your wingmen and if they get some items you send them to ROB in the big ship and when you come across an enemy ship, you go into a battle. There's even fog of war sometimes. Every mission seems to work this way. It's not the most fun part of the game or any great innovation but, it's OK.
Overall i think that if you're a fan of SF on SNES and N64 you should at least rent this. It's way better than Metroid Prime Hunters. The developer, Q-Games, did a nice job with it. I hope EAD makes one for the Wii though.
If you like generic cramp-inducing shooters, ****** level design in something that only passingly resembles anything to do with the Metroid series, by all means, go for Metroid Prime Hunters.
MPH is only decent in multiplayer if your hands can stand it and your L button doesn't crap out. Just get Unreal Tournament 2k4. That's what MPH is trying to be.
I don't hate the L button to fire. But the game is severely lacking. It didn't feel like Metroid. And online would've been fun for me if I could actually aim, but my hand is much too shakey to hold a steady shot. I think I had more fun with the demo.
