Pardon me while I rant a bit about my life of adulthood so far.
My life's been crazy so far. First, I got a job at Raw Thrills, breaking into the industry. Then, a year and a half later, I got a job as an animator at High Voltage. A couple months after that, my boyfriend and I moved into our first apartment. My parents HATED it, and so they pressured me into buying this condo with their financial help to get us out of the "barrio." A few months pass, and after about 2 years of employment with High Voltage, I took a job offer at Volition because I thought it was a great opportunity to work on high profile games and the like, along with some other reasons. With that, though, I had to sell my condo (which we thought would be easy, family included) and we had to move to Champaign, which is 3 hours south of Chicago.
Fast forward to present day, 1 year later. I'm moving BACK to High Voltage because A) it's a job where I can grow as an animator B) I still haven't sold my god damn condo, and I'm moving back to it since it's constantly bleeding me of money as I also pay rent C) all my friends are still in Chicago and it presents much better employment opportunity for Xeno. In all honesty, the biggest reason is B...I just can't afford to rent and own at the same time. I want to stay at High Voltage for at least a few years (hopefully longer), and I'm sick of moving around everywhere.
So right now we're in transition, living a month in a friend's guest room on the floor w/ a matress and our computers & 360. It's really weird. I can't wait to get back in town though.
