I never played much of the first game... but I don't get the movie.

What was with the fog and ash in the woman's "version" of the town vs. the standard version for her husband? And how come at the end when they tried to drive out, the road was magically repaired but she didn't return? She was in the house with her husband but... not.

I don't get it. Is it implying they're dead and in some form of hell on earth? gray, Nixon, some of you Silent Hill people... what's the deal?

In the first game, there are different versions of one town, not everyone can see or interact with each one. There's foggy, dark and alternate silent hill. I think the movie was trying to show that Rose and her daughter were stuck in one of the alternate/parallel worlds, unable to interact with her husband (who is in the real world).

Play the games, they are all much better than the movie.

Yeah, play the game and draw your own conclusions as to what Silent Hill is. It's more fun that way.

yeah, sadly i'd hate to spoil anything for you. but the fog world and the freaky dark world both show up in the games, with things usually getting crappier in each one.


the movie sort of borrowed elements from the games without worrying to much if they work.

the movie mad me very angery. Some effects and set designs are the only thing that kept me from punching my dvd player.

Yeah, I really liked the set designs and monsters. I thought the scene with the grey children was pretty nice. But Rose didn't even pipe/shoot/stomp one lousy enemy.

As for the ending, I guess they were just trying to say you can take the demon girl out of Silent Hill but you can't take the Silent Hill out of the demon girl.

The only Silent Hill I ever beat was 2. But with that said, I liked the movie. OMG, yeah I know. Later tonight I'll stand out in the open and feel free to throw rocks at me.

Maybe it was Pyramid Head tearing off that womans skin, or the gray children that made the movie so great to me. I don't think witch hunters quite fit in with Silent Hill, but I still liked the movie regardless.

I liked the movie. Didn't bother me that there wasn't a 10 hour+ story devlopment since most movies don't have that luxery like videogames. I liked it because it was like some of my other favorite horror films where things just get all ****** up for no real reason, kinda like Event Horizon and Virus.

The 2nd disc that came with the DVD is rather boring, I think. It's all just focused on the UMD video The Silent Hill Experience. I tried to watch the featurettes for it, but quickly got bored and uninterested. The main thing I got from it was that it had a lot of comics in it.

If anything, the movie will give you a good laugh... too bad they aren't trying to be funny. Doesn't make much sense to have video game dialouge in a movie. And as much as I like Pyramid Head, he shouldn't have been in the movie. If they were to make a movie based off of SH2 then they will have quite the plot hole.

But Rose didn't even pipe/shoot/stomp one lousy enemy.
