Tips to get back to work

My freakin god I haven't touched my RPG for the past month... I need tips or an incentive to get back to work again.

I also need tips. (Even though I haven't completely stopped)

Here's an incentive, get back to work or I'll break your kneecaps! Just kidding with you, man.

I wish I could give you some advice, but I've been having a similar issue. So there really isn't much I can do to help. Sometimes what helps me, is just goofing off with the RPGM I'm using until the creative juices start flowing again.

I kinda just had a new idea for a contest.... Might as well suggest it. It kinda relates to this.

Dude, we have a contest due in only a little over 2 months. If nothing else you'll get Valk to play and review your game.

What I'm going to do is make turning on RPGM the first thing I do in the morning. If nothing else, it gets my mind working on my game, instead of thinking about how much fun it would be to do play Guild Wars or watch some TV. I'm also trying to get up earlier in the morning, since it's the only time I usually like to set aside for RPGM.

Unfortunately, I work early in the morning, so I try to work on RPGM in the afternoon/evening when I get home. I don't have to worry about turning on TV, because I don't have (broadcast or cable) TV.

Yeah, the internet can be just as addicting. I should now, I've been online for a while now already today.

Hey, Drazus, if you are reading this thread, STOP! Get to work on that new game you were thinking of.

Game making inspiration tip: (I've heard someone else say this, I can't remember who) Get out a dictionary and look for strange words that you could use to name things or NPCs in your game.

Game making inspiration tip: Play a professionally made RPG for thirty minutes and jot down some notes on things you like and don't like about it, and make sure you use your own likes and dislikes in the game you create.

Well, you can look at some of the things you have made already (like characters, maps, or events) and get a feel for what you tried to make before. If you can't figure out what you were trying to make, you can improvise and make it up as you go along. Trust me, making it up as you go along will be more fun and the overall game will be better because the story will be smoother than if you would plan it ahead of time. However, it is wise to choose a genere BEFORE you make it. I think the most fun rpgs to make are sci-fi, with futuristic space travel and weapons, etc. It's up to you, really...
