How about this idea for the next Batman movie...

I was thinking of a way that they could change how the superhero movies are made.

How about the focus be on another character instead of Batman in the movie.

It could start with Harley Quinn. The movie opens up in her apartment that is clean, and very well organized. Case folders and scedules lined on the walls.

It would show her getting dressed in a very business like fashion. But on the tv could be cartoons.

Then the movie just focus on her career and tells of Batman, then she bumps into a man who is the Joker before the accident. She thinks that he is somewhat handsome, but just doesn't have time for dating with her job being the focus of her life.

Then Joker comes out, and Harley actually meets Joker. She is intrigued by her meetings with him. This is of course when Joker is arrested. She starts going into a change in her habits, and we see that in her apartment and how she handles her personal life.

Then Joker escapes, and we see Bruce Wayne getting in touch with Harley to get more info on the Joker. Then the movie goes and we see her actually joining the Joker.

I think that would be the best way to change up the formula in how they make those movies.

See: The first four Batman movies.

That said I'd love to see Harley in the next Batman movie.

Well, yeah in some ways, but I was thinking of just showing Batman there only when Harley is there. Otherwise, he is just mention. Not to say there wouldn't be a lot of Batman scenes.

I think that'd be a great Harley Quinn movie but if you market as a Batman movie people are going to want it to be about Batman or at least 50/50 between Batman and another character, most likely the main villain. But like Dreamknight said, the previous Batman movies focused mostly on the villains, then Robin and Batgirl in the last two.

It's only natural that it works out that way after the hero origin because after that the story is about the new characters' backgrounds and villainous plots, the hero is just there reacting to those main points. I think Spiderman is the one of the few that really works as continuing to focus on himself because he has more conflict between his personal life and his hero identity than most heroes.

Well, at least Christopher Nolan is doing it again. Maybe he can do it Memento style...

The outside observer perspective is not something that would work for a film. It's been done both in the animated series and in the comics, but films are such a short medium, the ticket-goers would feel extremely cheated if you marketed a Batman movie with Batman only getting a few minutes of screentime, if that.

Basically when it's one episode out of 100, it's not a big deal. When it's 1 out of 2 films, it becomes a much larger deal. You need to have an extremely well-established baseline before you can play off the cliches. The baseline hasn't been established yet.

If they made your film, it would have to be marketed as a Harley Quinn film. At the very least, I know that I would hate it and be spilling vitrol at it for mismarketing if it wasn't.

I really want to see The Long Halloween adapted as a movie. Especialy considering how much the bookis influenced by The Godfather. It would take a lot of skill to make the movie work and not seem to be just taking ideas from Godfather and placing Batman into them, but I think it could bedone, and done well.
