    FFT

Recently got back into this game after a spout of boredom. I chose to oldschool it this time and just play through the story normally before I made any attempt to create the super-group. What's your job records, if you can even remember?
    ...and that's why.

I'd tell you if I still had my save file. I do remember having a pretty solid team though.I think I even had Cloud to a point where he didn't suck.

I always used the AB trick to get mimes in chapter 1.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

        Re: FFT

I played it as a kid, and I sucked terribly. (Although I am proud of master Geomancer, makes that elemental counter thing kick ass.) Now, I have Ziegs disk because the begining is broken and I have a save file...but it's the one I screwed up as a kid and I don't feel like salvaging it when I could play my crazy awesome FFTA file.

            Monks? In the first battle?

Don't you only have Squires and Chemists?

              Re: FFT

One of my favorites. I played thrice. The first two times I got stuck near the ending (saved where I couldn't progress... this also happened to me with MGS1). On the third I finished, but the ending was a tad disappointing...

Great music. I actually like the difficulty level. For some reason, however, I couldn't dig GBA's FFT. I blame the user interface.

                Re: FFT

The trick only works on job classes that have more than one screen of skills. Like the Geomance for instance, gain enough AB to learn the first skill. When you select it there should be a question or something asking if your sure you want to learn it. When this is on the screen use the shoulder buttons to scroll down to highlight a grayed out skill and hit the x button. You should now have over 9999 ab for that job class.

Or something like that I'm going by memory. Basically it fools the game into taking away the amount of AB for the grayed skill but you can't have negative AB so it rolls backwards to some ungodly amount.

Oh and it's not a sure thing so make sure you save first. It won't screw up your save file just mess with the amount of AB you have so you'll waste it. Also I think as long as you have the room to scroll then you can keep doing it and basically learn skills for free.

                  Re: FFT

FFTA is just too easy and straightforward compared to FFT. The judges are actually what keeps me interested half the time I play it, though it is annoying to accidently break a law while killing someone with your main character, having not saved 10 battles ago.

There's another trick that's something along the lines of getting all your members to learn Accumulate as a Squire, then getting at least one person to learn Chakra as a Monk. You fight a normal battle until the last and weakest enemy is left, and set the party up on an even surface surrounding the monk while everyone accumulates and the monk heals you. With Gained JP UP attached, you get pretty far in whatever job the characters are pretty quickly. Have Ramza use Yell a couple times on everyone and you'll be so much faster than the monster you won't have a pause every now and then.

Well, that's one way. I heard of others. Like turning everyone and one monster into confused berserk frogs with Move HP UP and leaving them to they're own chaos for a few days. I guess you leave one party member able to heal them untouched and have him.. uhh... wait around I guess, until you want to play again.

AB Trick huh? I doubt it'll work on a Greatest Hits version.

Oh yeah, I used that "AB" trick just this playthrough. It doesn't work all of the time though. But it does work on Greatest Hits versions.

I just finished the Deep Dungeon, got my Summoner to learn Zodiac, and copied all of the rare weapons I could... Knight with two Chaos Blades... I'm sort of putting off going to the Orbonne Monastery because I don't want the game to end just yet.

Ooh, that AB trick sounds fun enough to make me want to pick up FFT again.

I tried FFT after playing (and loving) FFTA, and I just could not get into it.

Never had FFT, I have FFTA though. And the fact that my Paladin (Marche or whatever his name is) has his awsome dual weilding excalibur with holy strike (about 800+ damage) I just basically soloed the game with him. The end boss was kinda easy if you prepared for 'er.
