    3rd Party Hardware

Anyone use 3rd Party hardware on their consoles? I personally love some of this stuff (people laugh at me for using 'em, but screw them )

    Some of what I use

I love my Air Flo Gamecube controller, more for the weight than the actual fans on the sides. Plus the Hugemongous cord.

Programmable + Fast fire=Awsome Ps2 Storm Chaser, I had this back before I owned a PS2 (works with PS1 is why). And again 2x as long of cord.

I use some third party stuff (None from Mad Catz though, they can go to hell), and sometimes they're better than the official stuff. Cheaper too.

But, it's mostly Memory Cards and extra periferals(sp?).

Third party controllers never bothered me, but I avoid their memory cards like the plague after a certain incident in my DC days.

I have a couple of see-through NYKO PS2 wireless controllers that have turned out to be the greatest thing I ever bought. Ever.

A Logitech wireless PS2 controller is what I use. It's really nice, and the weight is perfect. Also, I have a Mad Catz memory card. I only have it 'cause it was cheap, but it hasn't broken yet. Lastly, I think I have a third-party Genesis controller. A turbo controller, in fact. It's not really very good, though.

I've had 2 3rd-party memory cards fail on me. I never use unofficial memory cards after that..

I've owned a few 3rd party controllers, but none have really felt as good as official ones.

Don't play online shooter with that...

When i was playing Timeplitters online, everyone complained about people using "turbo" Controllers which allowed them to shoot a pistol or shot gun faster...

Forget what I said about my Mad Catz memory card. It broke today.

EDIT: Eep! I spelled "what" incorrectly.

The only 3rd party stuff I've ever had is 2 PS2 controllers, one MadCatz and one some no-name crap. They both suck ass. The MadCatz one is really ****ed up, I hypothesized that the contacts on the inside are rotated, because when you try to play all the buttons are one clockwise (pressing O activates triangle, pressing X activates O). It's basically impossible to play with, of course.

The other one isn't bad but you have to really mash in the button for it to register as a press, which is bad for most games and especially bad for games with precise analog control like MGS3.

Basically 3rd party crap is the worst in my experience. I've yet to be pleasantly surprised by something.

Oh yeah maybe the Guitar Hero controller which is built like business, but that's Red Octane and they make some solid peripherals.

I have a couple third party hardware. One for my Sega Cd, that is an arcade stick setup. It has a great feature of turbo play, which helps me in the last section of Snatcher, and the stick is great for Eternal Champions.

I have a 3rd party N64 controller, but I didn't really like it. Too bulky.

I have a 3rd party headset for PS2, but it is hard to fit on my head without a headache.

I don't have a single Sony PS1 memory card. They're all third party periphs. Some I've never heard of before.

                          Performance
                          MadCatz
                          NUBY
                          Joytech

The NUBY is a mega memory card that has lost me more saves than I could possibly count. It serves me as a rather useful Codebreaker card now, because if it fries itself, I haven't lost anything.

The others have never given me any problems, and the Joytech one is a pretty metallic blue.
