What's wrong with my 360?

I'm ******; I must have the worst luck with consoles or something. My 360 now whenever I start a game or DVD I get a couple of minutes into it and the screen freezes and it turns into a checkered blue pattern. It doesn’t do this however if I am on the dashboard messing around. Has anyone heard anything like this happening before? There better be at least a 1 year warranty on this piece of crap, I've already been through 2 PS2s.

And I was going to get Dead Rising today…

yeah, i hope you bought a warranty from the store. You may be able to send it back to MS, but they might charge you to repair it.

and how well ventilated is the Xbox. Dont have it sitting in a cabinet or on a floor, that is just a recipe for disaster.

Product Replacement Plans are your friends. Especially when you buy a system that has been out less than a year and isn't from Nintendo.

Nope, the store I bought it from didn't have one and I personally think its ******** that I have to buy a secondary warranty to ensure that it will work in a half year. The 360 has whopping 90 warranty, that's freaking ridiculous. At least the PS2 had a 1 year plan to it. It looks like I’m going to have to shovel out 130 bucks to Microsoft because their product is a piece of crap and they can't give it a decent warranty.

Sony makes crap quality consoles (not that the PS2 has bad games just that like 1 our of 2 die within a year).

Have no idea what's wrong with your 360. Besides an iffy launch (overheating) those were made pretty well.

Well gentlemen, I got it working lol. I went through some steps on some XBox 360 board. It actually got worse earlier, the console wouldn’t even turn on but it would flash 3 red lights. So it advised me to remove the HD and turn it on, it worked. Then place it back in and try it with the HD. Well I’ve been playing COD2 for about 15 minutes and no freezes. I would like to buy a replacement plan, but you have to purchase them within the warranty period, so if this is only temporary, then I'll probably end up buying that 2 year plan from MS for 60 bones. Thanks guys.

Yeah its a load of crap that things dont come with warrentys for free, because the damned product shouldnt be on the shelves if you expect them to break in a couple of months.

At least I got a 3 year plan with mine for about $80 in a package deal.

I found that out when I Bought the External Hard Drive for my Ps2. Luckily I had gotten a warranty for it, because when I got it home, there was something very wrong with it. (though I can;t remember what.) The warranty let me come back to the store and exchange it for a working device.

Well you can pretty much forgot about my last post, my 360 as reverted back to freezing at about 5 minutes in. To me it sounds like an overheating issue, but it’s on top of my entertainment cabinet with nothing blocking the vents or anything. The system at least turns on, with no 3 red lights, but it’s pretty much useless unless I want to browse Xbox Live. My hatred for Microsoft ensues!
