Well Fedora is by far the most supported, though Mandrake would probably be the easiest to install since it is the most forgiving to my knowledge, and argubally the most graphical. Once you get used to one of those you might want to look for Debian, as many think it's one of the best. One you definitly shouldn't get is Gentoo, man that was the worst mistake and couple of days of my life. It takes almost 8 hours just to install, another 4 to configure it, and then like an hour for each program to install, and I never noticed any huge speed difference from watching line upon line of compile statements fly by my screen. But really most of them are fairly similar to each other, it really just depends on which one works better with your computer, because not having your monitor be recognized on install really sucks.
I personally like Mandrakes partioning program they have in their install (and of course the OS itself), since it's graphical, so it's a lot easier to tell what changes you're making.
But really just do some research on them, look at the installation manuals for each one, and how program updates are done. Those are usually the biggest differences, updating schemes and installation.
