I have an event in a town which makes four NPC's appear in another section. When their display is turned on, the screen obnoxiously flashes four times...one flash at a time for each character....and then my nose starts to bleed. Other than supplying the player with a fresh box of Kleenexes, is there anything I can do to prevent this phenomina?

Re: Screen Refresh Convulsions
I dunno if this would work, but have you tried fading out the screen before refreshing it?"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Re: Screen Refresh Convulsions
That was a good suggestion Draygone. I thought it would work, but sadly,
it's the same. I don't do a whole lot of turning people's displays on and off in the game I'm making, so it was interested to try it out. Unfortunately, it still shows all the refreshes. You may be better off with those four refreshes. These are the only options I can think of -
OPTION A - Maybe what you could do is have those four NPCs in another area and warp there briefly. Probably not your first choice though, I'm sure.
OR Maybe
OPTION B- Make your time in the town set up to be always noon instead of set up at default. Set up the NPC displays to be off during the day but on at night, and have the event change the time to night with just one screen refresh. It works. They all come on together with only one refresh, but the sky changes of course. (Unless you did this in a dungeon. That wouldn't be so obvious)
The event code is
01- Modify Town Prop. -> Town name (you will modify the town setting to night)
02- Refresh Display
Well, good luck. Maybe someone else has a suggestion.

Re: Screen Refresh Convulsions
Yeah. Also, if I recall correctly from Torayu, permenant evening doesn't count as night, so you could have it change from evening to night. Bit less obvious.
Also, have simply tried having the display on events occur while the player is in a different building? That should solve everything.
