Suggestion: blog forum
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!
Elaborate.
OK:
Hmmm...why not just have a private blog forum where members can make our own topics and blog.
I know I'd like to read many peopls thoughts here but for one reason or another wouldn't actually visit their blogs.
See, if there were a blog forum, you'd have a suitable place to continue complaining about that.
Would people be interested? Or is it too close to what we already have in the Free Forum? I guess you can ask in the Site Suggestions forum so as to not detract from this particular discourse.
...
God, my job can be dull.

I can easily install actual blogging software on the pavilion. I just need to do a few stress tests to see if it can handle it, and what the average bandwidth increase would be. I'll come back to this topic in a week or so after the tests have run.

I wouldn't use it. But that's just me.
I wouldn't be visiting a "blog forum" either. Again, that's me.

Yeah, I support this.
On another note: I would actually use the blog system.

I think after the initial interest, it's all just gonna be a place for people to vent and ***** for long lengths about how miserable their lives are and replies will eventually dissolve into "Yea, that's happened to me" and "yea, I can relate." and then the threads will die out.
I don't like the idea, but eh, whatever.

I like the the idea for the very reason jvrlopez doesn't. Better to vent in a blog than to spam up other threads about **** that rub you the wrong way.

Yeah, but ours is a different kind of ranting. We're in post-angst mode: we know why girls don't like us so we need to complain about more trivial things like the weather and construction.

I'm with "The Pez".. I don't really see it being used very much after the initial ZOMFG stage.
If we didn't whine in the Free Forum about stuff we hate it'd be empty! :(
See, that's what gives me pause. What would go in the Free Forum after that?

Or the video game forum. At least half of it is Square bashing! Why didn't I think about before?
Not trying to be a pest, but what is the status of this situation?

so far not so good. The forum's database is extremely large to begin with, so the tests I've done with the blog software have slowed the "mirror pavilion" I have set up for tests to a snail's pace.
Hmmm, that's a bummer. Oh well. If it doesn't work out I'll live. I bet people have already lost interest in this idea, anyways. Thanks for trying it, though, Valk.
I remember when I made my own blogging site.
