      This topic sounds familiar.

All too familiar. Pretty much everyone says that.

There are a few creative ways around limitations though.

Why don't people just accept the fact that there are limitations and either make a game, or get RPGM2 (or just learn a programming language)?

Because at the same time, RPGM2 is "too hard". And RPGM2 isn't widely available at the moment. And RPGM2 has chibi graphics.

Oh, well that does certainly explain why some wouldn't like it, even though I do like it.

It'd be nice if they could have the graphics and simplicity of RPG Maker 3 yet bring back the customability of RPG Maker 2. (They could even add in a way to record your own sounds via those Logitech microphones from those Karaoke games. )

I like the graphics of RPGM2... and also, sound files are very large. At least, far too large for a PS2 memory card.

I also like the chibi graphics. Can't make a comedic-looking game with RPGM3's graphics. Or at least, not exaggerated comedy.

I keep reading this word. What exactly does chibi mean, anyway? Is it the cartoon look of RPGM2? If so, why not say cartoon graphics? What is a chibi?!?!

Chibi kinda means child-like, "cute." I don't really like the graphics, but I like the ability to customize colors.

I liked the variaty of sound in RPGM2, but the quality wasn't too good. RPGM3 had much better quality.

Look at all the old RPGs where the characters were pretty much short squares with faces. They are chibi. Pretty much when the characters are chubby and squished, as opposed to being shaped more realistically.

I'd like to respond to this. Although this particular engine does not offer nearly as much versatility as say...an actual programming language, this does NOT mean that you can't be extraordinarily creative with it and develop an amazing work of art. I'm reminded of the old days when DOS was king and underated programmers compiled award-winning games housing four frames and three shades of grey.

Some could argue that the limitations presented in the program can even bolster your creative talents. Gameplay alone does not define a game...nor does graphical superiority. It's all about how you can captivate a player and bring them into your world...make them feel that they are a part of it...that they can relate to it. Let them view the world through YOUR eyes, all the while thinking they are seeing with their own. "God" may not be in the details, but you certainly are.
Believe nothing...except for the possibility of everything.
