My soundcard is going nuts on games

I just recently picked up Titan Quest and Grim Fandango, and my soundcard has been going crazy on both of them. On Titan Quest, the music will skip crazily until it finally just goes kaput and there's no sound. On Grim Fandango, it'll get stuck and loop a second, and since the game's progress is made from the sound cues, it gets stuck and freezes up. Any suggestions?

only the obvious ones, have you tried updating the drivers? might want to remove the card, and then reinstall the card, that will probably fix most issues...unless he failure is with the card itself.

What Jeroak said is right, but going further you might want to check system specs too, it could be possible the games are too powerful or on on high settings and the rest of the system can't keep up with it, and then just freezes.

Grim Fandango isn't very demanding.

Maybe, I don't think I ever got Grim Fandango to work either.
