Today I found Gunbuster on VHS in almost mint condition for less than $3 a tape, subbed. This is a fantastic find, since Gunbuster isn't even LICENSED in America anymore.

Anyone else have stories, past or present, about fantastic bargains/discoveries?

The entirety of Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS Team used for $8.

3 seasons of Farscape for $80.

Been getting the RahXephon DVDs for $7-8 a pop.

Suikoden II for $50.

I have no anime related bargains/discoveries. when I get something cheap, it usually is defective.

my best bargain was buying a transformer (fortress maximus) from a yard sale for 40 dollars. it still had it's box and everything. so of course, I went home, took pictures, and sold it on ebay for 600 dollars.

I, too, found Suikoden II at a local GameStop for $50. It was absurd. I just went to GameStop.com one day on a lark and searched for Suikoden II. Then I saw that one near me had it used. And my jaw dropped.

Also, Magus, the GameStop near me has Macross Plus Vol. 2 for $9.99. If you want, I can check the disc out and if it's mint, send it to you.

A place near me also has the Utena movie for $12.99, but it's obviously pirated.

I just bought the entire Trigun OFFICIAL series, all 6 DVDS, with all 26 episodes. For $23 after shipping and handling. Yay. =D

I got Einhander used for $10.00, the new AKIRA widesceen edition for $10.00, and THE STATE (skits and stickers) new on VHS for like $1.99. Dave picked up a used copy of gitaroo man for around $20.00.

I missed out on a brand new copy of earthbound for the SNES complete with the guide for $5.00. My friend wouldn't lend my five bucks. Cheap bastard.

I found FF1 for the NES one summer when my local video rental place was selling off inventory. I got it cheep. like $10. course it was SO FREAKING LONG AGO I cant remember the exact price. (like 93'-94')

Then one Christmas when my younger cousin from Michagain came up to visit, it misteriously "disappeared." I have a vauge recollection of saying "i might give this to you" to her, but I'm pretty sure she stole it. Little *****. Now from what I hear, she has dropped out of school, gotten involved with a pimp, and is basicaly soiling the family name. My grandmother has disowned her. Ok, maybe that was bit TO much info.

I once found the entire Saber Marionette J series on DVD on sale at a store that usually never sells anime, let alone a store here. Sure, the whole thing cost me about $120, but I never saw it anywhere again after I purchased it, so it was worth it.

I scored a copy of DB:GT Final Bout for the PS1 for $25 from a game store that was out of business a week later. Pity too; they had an awesome import selection and systems ready to try the games out on.

you know that game got re-released and is available new for 10, right?

and according to amazon.com, the trigun boxed set is 8 DVDs.

That was a typo, I meant 3, I'm getting the one with the Donut Soundtrack. (But without the soundtrack. T.T)
