    Is this story any good?

I'm currently attempting to write a good story for my first RPG Maker 3 game. This is what I have so far...

In the mystical continent of Sarvana, there thrived four clans of powerful magical creatures. They were the Dragon Clan, the Lizard Clan, the Wolf Clan, and the Falcon Clan. For centuries, these powerful tribes protected the non-magical citizens of Sarvana with their metamorphic abilities. However, a denizen of the Dragon Clan named Hotaka felt disgusted by defending the seemingly helpless humans. He began to urge for power, and he betrayed his people. For several years, Hotaka worked to create an army of magical creatures to destroy the human population and control the land. His plan was thwarted, however, by the combined efforts of the four clans. Hotaka was then banished to a remote plant at the four edge of the galaxy by the clans’ powerful magic. The war against Hotaka however, caused the massive slaughtering of the four clans. Today, the descendents of the Lizard Clan, Wolf Clan, and Falcon Clan, are far and scarce, while the mythical Dragon Clan disappeared entirely. Although the remains of the clans continue to guard and defend the land, their reduce in numbers have caused certain catastrophic in the human population. Without the knowledge and justice of the four clans, crime and murder have increased dramatically. Few towns and cities are now spread far out among wide stretches of land. But the decrease in the human population will soon be the least of the clans’ problems, for a new and greater evil is erupting in the midst.

I showed this to my brother, and he thinks it sucks. What do you think? Any replies or suggestions would be helpful.

    It's a good start.

Whom do the clans protect the Normies from?

      Each other, probably.

It's pretty ragged and grammatically inferior, so I hope your writing abilities far outweigh what you've shown here, because if you had an entire story that read like this, I wouldn't read it.

The story itself sounds fairly cookie-cutter in the sense that there was one evil guy in the past who was successfully banished. I want to know about the main characters and what their stories are before I judge harshly.

All that "clan" reminded me of Ku Klux. Those guys are as evil as hell.

Back-On-Topic: It's a good start, but needs a little more spice and character involvement. And maybe a little Ku Klux....

Ok. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll rewrite it as best as I can, and I'll probably provide info about the main characters.

Where are the grammar errors? I purposely looked this over for any mistakes...

Upon reading your story a second time, there are some (very minor) grammatical errors. I can tell you, I'd rather read something that you've written (in terms of using correct grammar and spelling) than some of the newbies that come here speaking in all the internet lingo. Some of these people shouldn't waste their time making a game. To you, sir Mario, I say go forth and prosper.

Thanks. Hopefully when I finish my RPG, I'll be able to submit it to the games section.

I haven't posted here in a few days... Okay, this is my new story. I changed it around a bit and tried making it less cliche.

In the mystical land of Sarvana, the first humans were born. As the human population increased, towns and cities of advanced civilizations spread over the country. However, the Lizard, Werewolf, Birdman, and Dragon tribes arrived in the peaceful continent, hungry for land, technology, and gold. They sacked the once thriving cities, and the human population rapidly decreased. Desperate for revenge and their stolen territory, the humans declared war against the tribes, and a bloody melee between the humans and the four tribes took place. Unfortunately, the humans were defeated quickly. However, on the blood-stained battlefield, a single human was left standing. Using an advanced and mysterious magic, he banished the tribes to a distant continent far out at sea. Although the war was over, the remnants of the battle are yet to be removed. The human population is now small and scarce. The once large and industrial cities became small towns with few people stretching across wide landscapes. Meanwhile, on the distant continent now inhabited by the four tribes, a member of the lizard tribe named Katsuro begins having mysterious visions of a young woman, standing in a deserted house. The woman is always calling for him, and staring with deep, sad eyes. Haunted by these dreams, Katsuro ventures to the continent of Sarvana to uncover the truth about these visions. Unknown to him, however, is the pain and desperation that his tribe helped caused the humans in the past. For he may not be as welcome as he thinks...

Re: Is this story any good?

                      1. I guess that really is advanced and mysterious magic, eh wot?

                      2. How can there be ANY population of humans when there was only one left standing?

                      3. Were there humans OUTSIDE of the battle?

                      4. Why would the humans choose to fight ALL FOUR of those other tribes when they were basically outnumbered and outgunned?

                      It's a bit contriiiiiived.

Still, it's getting less cliche every time.
