    What a bummer...

    Well this really sucks.

My hard drive at work died before I had a chance to check in my files of 2 weeks of work into the database. Now I have 2 weeks to do a 4 week task. Yay! Thanks, Dell!

I'm guessing there wasn't a way to back them up earlier, huh?

My dell hd died out on July 4th (after 4 years). I ended up having to get a new computer.

Well, I guess I was supposed to upload the files onto the Perforce database, but I didn't count on my harddrive dieing. Live and learn.

          I'm sorry, that was insensitive.

I just got one recently. I hope that my computer can last for at least 5 years.

How did I know someone would say that? Anyway, really sucks to hear about your hard drive. That would **** me off to lose all of that data.

                DUDE!

                YOU GOT ****ED BY DELL!

There no way to get it off the HD?

Yes there is, you just need to send it to a professional or get some special software. But I guess it depends on the extent of the damage.

I, too, had a hard drive problem the other month. Damn Maxtor USB just died on me when I was rendering a video onto it.

How did I not? That should've been so obvious.

I almost got a Dell. But then someone told me they consisted of 100% used parts. ....Or was it that once your Dell dies, you can't simply replace the parts but you have to buy a whole new computer.
