Re: Alan Wake
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.Originally posted by VonwertLooks very interesting, but I really can't tell what kind of gameplay there will be from the trailers.
I'm hoping it won't be just some Silent Hill clone. Which, if it is, I'm sure I'd still love it. But the narrative looks promising.

Re: Alan Wake
Uh...
I finally got to this. I couldn't stop playing. I beat it.
Then I downloaded and beat the expansion / downloadable content / "sequel" chapter.
Guys...if you can, play this game. The story is really good. The memorable moments that happen are really good. The downloadable chapter is downright inspired. We need more games like this.Last edited by Kire; 09-24-2010, 05:47 PM.

Re: Alan Wake
So more games need to crib on Steven King and steer away from innovation? Sounds good! I played the game and couldn't even finish it. The entire thing was an incredibly soulless affair and it felt like a re-skin of Max Payne complete with a heavy-handed narrative but with you running around in the woods instead of abandoned warehouses and flashlight combat instead of bullet time.
Sorry, Kire.
I walked in wanting to like it, too. Look at how hopeful Toaster from 4 years ago was!Last edited by Toaster; 09-24-2010, 11:11 PM.

Re: Alan Wake
Zelda has it's place and they're well made games with a lot of polish but the series has become too formulaic. And that formula is getting pretty sterile and predictable--which is why Majora's Mask is my favorite Zelda game.
What happened in the DLC chapter, anyways? Mind spoiling it for me? I heard that the game kind of blueballed the audience out of an actual ending.
