    digital cameras

Alright guys, it is going to be my birthday in 12 days, and i want a digital camera. The price range is between 100-200$, and id like to know what i can get the best "bang for the buck". I dont know much about digital cameras, but i do know that i dont want it to use AA because those usually tend to run out fast and cost me butt loads of mula. Ive tried www.newegg.com, but again, i dont know whats good and whats not, so i decided to go to all of you guys out here that are savy with cameras. So what do you guys think? Would i need to get more memory as well?

    Thanks in advanced.

Yeah, I'd opt for a good balance of memory to go with the camera. Since you probably won't be needing to take professional-style pics, I'd just find a camera with as many megapixels as you can afford. Also, if you plan on taking pics from far away, you may want to get a camera with good zoom. It really has a lot to do with what you plan on taking pictures of. I've really only had experience with Kodak digital cameras, and they've been easy to use and take decent pictures.

Batteries aren't a problem anymore. They're rechargeable now! Wowzers.

Sony's Cybershots are pretty good cheap cameras. Never had any problems with them. This one looks extremely awesome. My Sony was about 300 and only 4 mp. This is a good find...

My parents got me a cool Hp digital camera. only problem is it goes through batteries like ****ing nuts.

2 AAs last not even an hour. :/

Thanks for the comments. The only problem is the AA's...my brothers digital camera burned through 2 AA's in about 30 mins...and from what ive seen, most cameras that range from 100-200 only have AAs =(

Canon is the best as far as sleek, high-end yet affordable entry-level digitals go. I got a powershot that's 5 MP for 300 from circuit city.

Dude. 15-20$ gets you a charger and 4 AA's. I rarely charge my batteries, as the Cybershot is pretty good with battery usage. When I do need to swap out my batteries, I do so with the 2 left over, and charge the two I just drained.

It may sound like a chore, but it's just like charging your cell at night.

Canon is always a pretty safe bet, and try to stay at at least 3-4 MP if you plan on making prints.
When you do get a camera, to save on batteries, keep the flash off, and don't look through your pictures that you have already taken alot. otherwise, they should last at least 4 hours...

If you cant get rechargable batteries, go for lithium. They last forever and a day.
