    Locking doors inside castles...

    I really feel dumb, but I cant figure how to lock doors inside the castle. I thought I figured out how, but I forgot...

    Um... there is not way to lock doors inside of a castle. I assume you mean a castle as in a castle in a town. There is no way to lock those.

        There's a way to "lock" the castle, but there is no way to lock individual rooms inside the castle.

          You could put an invisible event in front of the door that says it's locked and then moves the player away from it, and have it check for a treasure item, and if so, say "you unlock the door with the (item)." then do a display off or mode change.

            I was thinking of doing that but if the player wants he can still open the door... Oh well...

              If you move the player back far enough, he shouldn't be able to walk through the event the next time he approaches. It should work.

                As Pagerron says, just have the (touch) event:
                1. Check to see if the character has the item, and if not:
                2. display a message that says the door is locked
                3. move the character back a bit so that if he touches the event again, it will repeat.

                If you have to, make two identical events and set them next to each other, barring the doorway completely. No way characters can get around that!
