    Best Party Place?

Who's got the best party place? I know I don't, but I wanted to share with you guys my friend's party place.

One of my buddies at work finally graduated and got his GED. So he decided to throw a party in his barn. When he said that, I was thinking there'd be hay all for sitting on and maybe he'd set up a table or something the for the DJ's music stuff, you know?

Boy was I wrong! His barn was the bomb! It looks like a normal big red barn on the outside. But when you walk in, it's completely different! The first floor is a pretty typical for a barn though. Storage on one side, and the other side had their extra fridges and **** and then there were some stairs.

After you go up the stairs, it's like you're in a cafe. There's tables and chairs, and then to be different, there's one of those ball games that you often see at Chuck E Cheese's where you roll the ball up the ramp and get it in the holes.

In the middle of the barn on the 2nd floor, there's a small display of knick-knacks(about the size of 3 twin sized beds). You can also see the 1st floor. Then in the last section of the 2nd floor, there's the bar in the corner, as well as a pool table! It completely rocked.

And to top it off, there was more stairs! A 3rd freaking floor! Up there is the dance floor! Which extends across the whole barn with the exception of a hole where you can see the bar on the floor below. How sweet is that?

Well, it gets better. On the far side of the dance floor, there's a ladder up to the 4th floor! Of course, the 4th floor is only about 8ft x 20ft. This is where the DJ sits and overlooks the entire dance floor. There's speakers rigged all over the place, with 5CD disc changers and all that crap.

Also, up there for the DJ is a bunch of switch boxes that control the lights! There's a switch for everything. There's one for the lights, the mirror ball to spin, spot lights on the mirror ball, the christmas lights that around the entire 3rd floor, the rope lights for the 2nd floor, the strobe light, the black lights, and finally a switch to shut everything off!

That place ruled! It makes me want to sell my house and buy a farm house with a big ass barn like that! That place was bloody awesome! Now the most disappointing part of it. I went to take pictures of it, but my stupid camera batteries were dead! =(

I think the game you are referring to is called Skee-ball, or something similar. That's just awesome... You should go back and get pics!

We had a barn in Ohio that was great for parties. And cheesy horror movies. Or cheesy horror movies centered around parties in barns.

But that one takes the cake for sure. We don't have any good party places anymore down here. My one friend decided she didn't like owning the party house, another friend turned into a Jesus freak, and my brother became whipped, so we don't get to party there all the time anymore.

Back in high school I knew this dude who's dad lived in rural Niagara Falls and he used to throw partys in his barn all the time. It was pretty cool.

I tried throwing a party at my mom's house before. It wasn't that great. My mom has a tiny house and it was cramped with just 10 people in the livingroom/diningroom area.

But then we went outside and stood in the driveway in the middle of winter and we were all jumping at the moon pretending to worship it as cars would drive by just to freak them out, that was about as ammusing as the party got. =b

I threw a few parties before. One was in this big empty storage room that I rigged with three monitors, two camcorders, speakers, a DJ booth where I played my own music mixed with storebought music, projections onto a sheet with a slide projector, strobe lights, blacklights, etc. For video on the monitors, I used a video switcher and switched live from camcorder 1 footage, being shot during the party, camcorder 2 footage, also being shot live, and prerecorded video footage I had spliced together of various stuff. During the music, I also had a record player, a minidisc player, and the audio from the prerecorded video that I mixed together to make this sound collage. For example, I might play some music from a CD player, then take some preacher talking on a record and mix it with the music, mix in the audio from the video, and throw in some samples I previously recorded on minidisc to make this really disorienting sound collage. We threw three parties like this. The first one, the police busted, and somewhere on tape I have video from one of the camcorders of the cops walking around the party. My friend had bought a keg for the party, and there were underage kids there, so the policeman asked all of us our age. As I was the oldest, the cop told me "You know I've got your balls in my hand right now." But he took the kids to the station to have their parents pick them up and let the rest of us go. Thank god. I was trying to make kind of a low-fi rave in downtown Aurora. I think the three parties we threw were pretty successful.

You really want me to go back to my alcoholic ways, do you not? At least you gave me positive rep (my 69th point of rep, btw). My response to you is....Ummm....I can still have fun sober!
