Yeah, Francis Scott Key kinda changed it up a bit. I think the most ironic thing is that it was an English drinking song, which Key used to describe an attack by English ships.

i never knew it was an englishman who wrote it, always thought it was irish. the funny thing is that it was supposed to be really hard to sing so when you were drunk no one could sing it! no wonder everyone sucks at the national anthem!
