okay I thought recently that I should get off my butt and contribute something. so a friend of mine asked if I knew someone who knows how to write and speak russian (my friend is a russian that doesnt know any russian)to translate his game. at the time I said no, but I just figured out about 2 months ago how to do this. this tutorial will teach you how to self translate your games.(russian and greek)
important before reading:
1)simple but a pain in the neck!
2)russian's punctuation keys are jacked up! they are in different spots in the keyboard. (in other words, treat this as you would those easter egg hunts you had in your fabled childhood.)
3)this is not a "choose your language" and the game will be in russian or greek from there on. this tutorial shows you how to make one game ALL in the selected language.
4) If you wish to type up a word document in greek it will say half of your words are mispelled. theyre not wrong actually!
5) this only works for Windows PC with the operating systems of: windows 98, windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, and Windows ME

So heheheh! you want to translate your own game? well you can yourself, thanks to well bill gates! just follow the instructions. please pay special attention to the important notes before proceeding!!
step 1. open up the START MENU at the bottom left hand screen (sure you knew that huh?).
step 2. look for the SETTINGS command bar in the start menu.
Step 3. Look for the bar called CONTROL PANEL.
Step 4. Look for a taskbar called KEYBOARD SETTINGS. look for a TEXT SETTING OR LANGUAGE SETTING TAB.
Step 5. Select Russian or greek (they do not use english letters!)your selection should show up at the bottom right hand corner (opposite from start menu). you can change from your selected language to english at anytime by pressing the language button at the bottom right hand of the screen. (it will say RU if you chose russian and GR if you chose greek).
Step 6. Open up RPG MAKER XP and begin typing, the text should appear in the language you selected. (if not make sure english[EN] is not still selected.
and thats all!
