    "Dead" NPC's

Okay. Let's say I have this quaint little town, filled with friendly, happy-go-lucky NPC's all jittering about, minding their own business. Now let's say the town was violently burned to the ground. Is there any tricks with the 3D models or anything that I can do to display a "dead" NPC? Like make them lay on the ground, etc. I don't want bones or anything mind you, because every NPC in my game is rich in character and has a portrait. I want the player to go up to little Timmy lying face down on the ground and start bawling his eyes out as soon as little Timmy's portrait comes up with the "....I'm not talking to you because I'm a corpse..." dialogue.

Twisted? Yes. Anal about character development and RPG drama? You bet! Any thoughts?

Nope. A lack of "destruction and death" graphics pretty much ruined any chance of a very dark game idea of mine ever coming to fruition.

There are bones and headstones as decerational graphics. So at least you can turn timmy and his mom and dad into three skeletons side by side.

As I see, the only way is to change the beautiful a peaceful town to a Dark and desserted ghost town with rain and everything, but without dead characters (sad).
