The pay sucks, and the job is less-than-challenging. All in all I would rather do just about anything than this; I feel that every day is simply a waste of time.
EDIT: Just to illustrate how simply unsatisfying my job is, I spent the entire day putting stickers on things. ALL DAY.
Id love the job if my supervisor didnt hate me, and the homeowners that call in would read their god damn plan and realized that the entire universe is not covered by their plan, and then complain about the damn "fine print" when there is no fine print, everything is right there, in the same size font, for you to read, you just gotta read the whole thing, which takes 10 minutes, ARGHHHHHHH!
Atleast the pay is really good. Making almost $17 an hour. But you need it for all the hell homeowners put you through.
Where @:
Sprint HQ (it's huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge and really nice, actually)
Position:
Contractor, not a real employee. I'm converting a bunch of employees right now in a case that involves a big lawsuit. Apparently I'm the only one doing it.
Evaluation?
Pretty awesome, considering what I'm being paid to do. Some days the work is so light I can just curl up with a good book and putz around on the Internet. It can sometimes get frustrating working with some of the internal systems we have, but people here are generally nice and helpful, which is a step up from fast food.
It can be pretty taxing at times, but I like the fast-paced environment. Customers are usually OK for the most part, but some are extremely anal and others just seem to be looking for us to make mistakes so they can try for a free meal. Overall, I'd like to be somewhere else in a year's time.
Evaluation
Hated it! *snap, snap* I was slow at making sandwiches and couldn't remember what went on which and nobody ever showed me how to use the register so I spent all my time cleaning (tables, windows, sweeping, dishes, bathrooms). But worst of all it was minimum wage and they always gave me less than 10 hours a week so it was SO not worth it.
Budget/Contracts Analyst - I keep track of money and process contract amendments.
Evaluation
It's the easiest job I've ever held and the one that pays me the most. It oscillates between dull and stressful, but mostly it's dull. I've done all the hard, laborious work before so I can't complain too much, but I'd like to find something that paid the bills AND was fulfilling.
So you're a fish out of water...
Keep swimming.
What else can you do?
