its hard to explain but i dont know how to make like... (flag or switch) to execute the next part of the event?? do i have to use variables? because i cant learn them no matter how hard i try lol

    Re: making quests

Switches/Flags are done in the form of Variables, expect that rather then on or off, they can be given values from 1 to 99 (I believe thats the max, anyway.) If thats too daunting, just use the values 0 and 1 to simulate switches.
Oh, and this isn't an IM, so you have the time to write out words and capitilize I's.

K well when l make a character in town and try to set up for him to use his next mode it doesnt even have a place for an event condition to go? So how would lt even know what variable is next?

Yes, you have to use variables, but variables are your friends

        What is a Variable?
You can think of a variable as a box. To start with, this box is empty, so we say it has a value of 0. Now, suppose you were on an Easter egg hunt. If you got one egg and put it in your box, your box (your egg variable) would have one thing in it (be equal to one).
Now, suppose you want a quest to be made (actually, you do). Upon talking to "Justin Tree" or something, you need to find a way to tell the game that you've started the quest. Variables, to the rescue! So, you have your "Save the Justin Tree" variable, right. What? no! Then you need one! Any variable will do, but I like to choose one of the NPC's (the "Justin Tree's") internal variables, as it keeps things more organized. When you are given the quest, add one to the variable. Just one. Not two. One. Okay, so your variable is one after you accept the quest, right. Great! That means the game knows when you are doing the quest. But how will it know when it's done? That is the great thing about variables. While switches can only be On or Off, RPGM3's variables can be any number from 0 to 999,999. So, how do we tell when the quest is complete? After the antidote or whatever is given, you can add one more to the variable. Now it'll be 2. If it's 2, you know that the quest is done. And variables can be used for all kinds of other things, too. Easter egg hunts, keeping track of the dungeons you cleared, and many other things!

EDIT: Both of you posted before me! This post took longer than I thought.
EDIT AGAIN: Use a "Val Conditional Branch." It checksthe value of a given variable, and does whatever you specify for whether it evaluates as true or false.
EDIT AGAIN AGAIN: Anyone who knows where the Justin Tree's from gets a cookie.
EDIT AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN: This is my first reasonably long post. w00t!
EDIT AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN (I promise I'll stop): I fixed my spelling of the word "friend." (it was spelled "freind," before I fixed it)

          Hi mikedanks,
A while ago a bunch of us on here were helping HistoryMajor with a quest that he was making. It's possible that reading through some of the posts on there could help you understand some of the basics of quest construction in this game. It took me a while to search for and find this thread. I hope it can help.
