    Is it just me, or....

Is it just me, or does it seem that this forum is getting posted in a bit more in the past month or so than it's been posted in for some time? I think the three or four newcomers (one of whom already has 80 posts?!?!) posting questions in this forum is bringing it back to life. Hooray for Newbies!

Haha, yeah, I think it started with a few more newbie posts then normal, then me and page replied to all of them, then people realized that posts here would get quick and (usually) effective answers.
    Then it exploded.

yeah i joined like a month ago or less, and asked a few questions, but it was still quite dead. then i came back a week later, and tehre were like 5 new threads lol.

i think its because RPG Maker 3 is so frustrating, it causes a lot of questions to come up lol, and i guess everyone wasn't like us and bought it not long after it first came out :-D

I think RPGM3 is frustrating also, but only because they made it more limited than RPGM1 but didn't make it easier at the same time.

i dunno, in terms of field and town building, its super easy. if you could just "drop" towns and houses in RPGM1, with the insides already done and everything, that would be sweet. the events are probably the same complexity, and when you're used to switches, variables are kind of like wtf, but they're easy to learn.

i'm not going to act as if i prefer rpgm3 though. personally i would like this game a lot more if i could simply move my events lol

but i gather from your comments that you're not a rpgm3 fan lol

Creating a nice-looking field seems difficult to me. Granted, it wasn't a cakewalk in RPGM2 either, but at least I can more easily get the heights just as I want them. Plus, there's no spell database. If you want a party member or monster to learn the same spell as another, you have to recreate the spell from scratch. And I really don't like the effort I have to go through in order to match up 3D models with 2D avatars, and I'm not about to use more than one type of avatar (eg, Pop Art, Anime, etc.) in the same game. It just looks unprofessional to me if you've got two different-typed avatars appearing in the same storyteller. And the 100-person limit is annoying. I want to be able to fill my towns with people who want to gossip. And why should I have to hold two buttons to walk around and turn at a decent pace?

But now I'm ranting. Overall, RPGM3 is a huge disappointment to me. So many things that was the norm in other RPGMs were not included in RPGM3. It just makes no sense.

Yeah, making fields is hard for me two, I can never get the land to gently slope into the ocean, instead it seems to drop suddenly into the ocean unless I spend a hour gently molding the landscape so it looks perfect.

yeah, i just refrain from using the avatars in general. it doesnt really add anything to the game.
i use storyteller mainly for like narration and such

I find it lousy outside of storyteller, though. Storyteller is prettier-looking. Just look at the difference between "flash" options between storyteller and gameplay.

I can't stand how certain 3D character models can only use certain weapons. This way if you want one of your characters to look a certain way that allready determines which weapons they will be able to wield. Another holdback is the weapon's, having to go through and set which characters can weild the weapon for every is long a tedious.

I think I need to put more storytellers in my next game...the majority of storytellers used in Series 1 were for the lead-up to the final battle/game ending screens. I only had a few cut scenes, too. I think I need more to tell a richer, deeper story.

Actually, I thought it was pretty easy in RPGM2. It just takes a while.
