Hey I was just wondering, is it possible to have multiple fields in one game and somehow connect them? Like via airships and such? Thanks ^^

Re: Multiple Fields?
That, is just what I wanted to hear. For awhile I was deeply worried about my game be limited to one field lol.Originally posted by PerversionBut you CAN use the airships. In my game, the balloon will take you to a different town, which, when you leave the town, is in a different field.

Re: Multiple Fields?
Either is possible, depending on how you want your game to be layed out. In my last game, I actually have an invisible warp in the middle of one field that takes you to a town that's not even placed on the field map. It's kind of a hard easter egg to find, but Pagerron ran into it accidentally on his first playthrough. Unfortunately, he didn't pick up the item in the town.

Re: Multiple Fields?
It would be the same as warp, yes, but it's more natural to say that you are taking an airship somewhere else rather than just using a warp point to go somewhere. It appears that you are going from town to town using a commonly used form of transportation. It is preferable in my opinion. The only thing I used warps for in my game is warping out of the dungeons, and the "secret" warp I mention above.
And it does show the balloon taking off, with some cheesy music, but after that, you warp to the entrance of the town you are travelling to.Last edited by Perversion; 06-26-2006, 12:23 PM.

oh thats cool, i was just going to justify my warps wit magic, like theres a wizard on my game, and he's basically the explanation for every "unrealistic" thing on my game, including warps and save points.Originally posted by PerversionIt would be the same as warp, yes, but it's more natural to say that you are taking an airship somewhere else rather than just using a warp point to go somewhere. I have two islands that have fortresses on them and since you can't have airship's in fort's, I have two wizards to "practice" their magic by teleporting you back and forth. I actually got the idea from FF XI, where theirs a taru-taru who does the same thing.Originally posted by theonejanitoroh thats cool, i was just going to justify my warps wit magic, like theres a wizard on my game, and he's basically the explanation for every "unrealistic" thing on my game, including warps and save points.

Re: Multiple Fields?
You could have a very small dungeon consisting of one small room and a secret door and have the dungeon in one field and the secret door in another field.Originally posted by MagusMartovichNow, I know that dungeons can have a "secret" door too. Is there anyway to connect two different fields via this extra portal?

Re: Multiple Fields?
Yes... Just have the dungeon's main entrance in one field, and a secret door entrance in the other field. You can also have both entrances on the same field if you want to connect two parts separated by water or impassable mountains.Originally posted by MagusMartovichNow, I know that dungeons can have a "secret" door too.
