    Encounter Rate

God, I can't believe I'm still up. This is the second night in a row that this damn thing will keep me awake until 4 in the morning. I believe "obsession" is the word for this week.

Alright I have another question. Is it possible to have the enemy enounter rate in an area changed after defeating a boss? I noticed in the battle event that you have the ability to change the field properties...but I didn't see anything for encounters within the field. I want to make it so that once the boss in the area is defeated, there will be no more enemy encounters in that zone. Yes? No? Loopholes? Annoying 50-step variable modifications? :-P

You could try making two identical fields, then warping them to the second after defeating the boss, however, you would then have to copy all of your towns and dungeons, too, so that wouldn't work. You could have the boss drop an item that gives "Encounter Down," but that also wouldn't work so well. So, I don't really know of any way to do it. I hope that you can find a solution. If you do, be sure to post it.

Hmm...copying the area isn't such a bad idea. Why would I have to copy my towns as well? Basically, I have an npc in the town who teleports the player to a zone where monsters are. You have to find the boss, kill it, and then head back go the warp gate...which sends you right back to the NPC in town. So that idea of yours might actually work from what I can see.

If the field you went to had the towns in it, you'd have to copy the towns since towns are linked with the map they're placed in and you can't place a town in multiple maps unless you don't use the default warp system for towns. But since it's just a field that you warp to and from, it wouldn't be much of a problem, except copying the field would take an extra chunk of memory.
