    Earth warmest in 400 years

I'm not one to let Terr have all the fun, though I'll spare you all the copy and pasting and let you click on the link instead.

    MSNBC
(Because that's what my homepage has been set to since I got this computer.)

What I find most interesting, though, is a GM ad that appeared for me in the middle of the article.

    "Everyone likes a good story.

But that doesn't make it true.

    Get the facts."

In all honesty I'm not entirely sure how accurate their "Hockey Stick" is, but the problem is definately there. People have known about it at least when The Beverly Hillbillies was first on the air.

I dunno, I think the Earth suffered more than car exhaust in the past.

I love how I heard something on the news about how scientists always argue and junk, but now they have CONCLUDED AND AGREED that global warming exists from human reasons(yeah, I'm sure everyone was so surprised). Wow. I guess that means apocalypse now.:o

How about we, uh, do something about it.

Do we have weather records from 400 years ago?

That makes sense in theory, but the same broadcast also said that "scientists aren't telling politicians what to do about it" or something like that. I don't see why not.

Oh noes! The stars are causing global warming!

Oh noes! The... wait, earth's temperature decreased between 1998 and 2005?

Oh noes! Use giant mirrors to combat global warming! (It will make Wornstrom and Nixon happy, at least.)

Let God take care of the planet he gave us.

Meanwhile, let's sit back and reap the profits.

Meh, I'd be more shocked if it were like "EARTH WARMEST IN 3 MILLION YEARS! THAT'S RIGHT, LAST TIME IT WAS THIS HOT IT WAS STILL A BALL OF FIRE!"

We are the caretakers of the world, and God no longer plays a part as far as I know. (Probably figuring "Why bother, I'm gonna hurl that comet into it in a few years, anyway.")

Didn't you say in another topic it was volcanoes?

But then again, the amount of GHG emissions from manmade sources outnumber that by two orders of magnitude.

I think some places have them up to 500 years back.
                              Not to mention Paleoclimatology.
Oh my god! You are so beautiful.
I had no idea how beautiful you were.
