That sounds interesting, but would I still be able to use my wallpaper? ...Or maybe it would be called "carpet" in this case.

Yeah I don't see this really being useful, and will probably make you less productive as you randomly throw your documents at the wall to see how far they bounce. And though every document had a type, I never saw any names on these documents so how would you ever tell which is which, and with these you would always have to alt-tab to find documents as 3D, unlike now where you can place folders on your taskbar and such and browse through them over your current windows. I know Sun was working on making a 3D OS at one point, haven't heard about it in over a year though so they might have decided it really wasn't that good. So while this is a pretty cool graphics engine demo, I don't think it would be helpful for anything other than piling files and throwing them around. Also I did not see a preview area for the documents though I guess they could put it on the squares, if they did do that for all your documents and kept them updated, your system would come to a complete halt, especially with all the shadows and collision.
I'd never actually use it, either. My destop isn't cluttered and the only time I interact with it is when I double-click on something to open it or right-click in the middle nowhere to change a few settings.

I'm just saying most Apple users love things similar to this... Apps that make the hardware seem "cool" and "unique" but that is hard to justify using other than it being "cool". This is obviously from personal opinion... I've had Apple users around me my whole life (including my dad).
I dunno, it looks interesting and I could see myself using it often if I knew how. The problem is taking the time to sit down and force myeself to learn it, when I already know how to deal with what I use currently. Might not be worth it. I'd still like to play with it.
I'd use it just to have a huge mess of virtual folders on my computer screen... and then I could shuffle them around realistically and with springy action!
