Re: PS2 HD loader
The HD Loader is used to take your games and store them on your HDD so that they run faster.
You put in the HD Loader. Click add game, the tray opens, you put in the new game and voila. Your legally owned game is now on the PS2 and load times are reduced.
To play your legally owned games from the hard-drive as opposed to the cd, you put in the HD Loader disc, select a game, and hit play.
P.S. Please, please, PLEASE do not use it to pirate games. I'm serious.

Re: PS2 HD loader
Does it work with PS1 games? I know I'd enjoy playing FF9 and Chrono Trigger with reduced load times. (Unless it doesn't reduce them any more than PS2's speedy disc option does.)"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Re: PS2 HD loader
I haven't encountered any PS2 games with horrid enough load times, though."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Re: PS2 HD loader
i have 2.0. Definitely makes loading times nicer, plus with RPG Maker 2, i don't have to have the disc spinning 100mph inside the ps2 and making loud noises (it's the only game I have that does this) possibly screwing up my system.
they released a newer version a while back that's supposed to work with more games, plus let ya use an external hard drive easier (although they say loading games this way takes just as much time if you played the DVD/CD rom normally).

Re: PS2 HD loader
I don't own any of those games. The only games I'm really concerned about when it comes to load times are RPGs, of which I only own FFX, RPGM2, RPGM3, Wild ARMs 3, Dragon Quest 8, and Kingdom Hearts 2, and I don't have a problem with the load times in those. Well, except for RPGM3, but that's already making use of my Hard Drive.Sonic Heroes? Armored Core? Star Ocean (at times)? Xenosaga? Champions of Norrath?"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Re: PS2 HD loader
the utility disc that comes with sony's HDD, forget all about that.
The disc for HD Loader, or HD Advance, are the ones you use to bring up the menu to copy/play games.
It's very simple.
Pop in the disc for HD Loader/Advance, it will load up its own menu to copy/play games, and you simply follow what the options say. That's it.
