Can someone tell me whats with Oblivion?

I just heard a news story talking about it getting a mature rating because of a 'file players could download'. Now I want to know, is this like 'hot coffee' and is a file that just allows topless girls, or is this a user made patch?

It is just the mod to take way the clothing, revealing the nude skins beneath. It isn't much to look at.

They had the samething in Morrowind.

Just tell your parents, if it is about that, that you can't access it now. Though there are still cheats around it, but still just say they patched it if you are getting it for the PC. XBOx 360 doesn't have it yet.

So its just parents getting mad and not knowing what they are talking about again? Hot coffee I understand, but you have been able to get nude skins for almost every popular computer game since before Tomb Raider.

The thing is, Oblivion's nudity was modeled into the game unlike Morrowind where skinners made their own skins for the models. Apparently, having something that you can't see but access with a hack is considered ZOMG MATURE.

Regardless, I'm surprised Oblivion wasn't rated M to start out with. There's gushing blood, realistic violence, disturbing quests and scenes involving grave robbing, misogyny, racism (even if they are fictional races), necrophelia, bondage, binding and torture, evisceration, murder and premediated assassination. I know none of this is MIND BLOWINGLY DESTROYING but due to Oblivion's realistic graphics it's not something I'd buy my 10 year old son (if I had one) and it's not something I'd buy a teenager without first saying "lol this is fantasy don't try casting fireballs and hitting ppl with swords, k?"

Thats exactly what I thought too, but that was also one of the same reasons why it got rerated because of the blood and gore throughout the title.

I question the ESRB's rating methods.

Don't forget models that are a little more detailed than you normally find in a video game. Please stay away from the back of the horse.

The animation breaks any sort of realism the graphics acheive. Also, after seeing it run on a HD tv...the trees look so fake it hurts.

I thought the animation was fine and dandy except when you kill someone with a shock enchanted weapon and they fly 50 thousand feet in the air. Still, there's no other game in the market compared to it... yet.
