Some intense movies I've seen lately

Ever since I've been with my mom and her fiance, all we've been doing is watch movie after movie after movie. In the last few weeks, we've seen New World, Crash, Requiem for a Dream, Freedomland, Da Vinci Code, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Last Samurai, King Kong, Matchpoint, Howl's Moving Castle, X-Men 3, Chronicles of Narnia, and others I can't even remember. We watched Requiem for a Dream and Freedomland tonight. If my movie-watching companions ever thought about being on the wrong side of the law before, I think tonight straightened them out.

    WOW.

Has anyone else spent their summer wasting away in front of the television? Hope I'm not the only one.

That's all I used to do.

When I was in school and had no job, I would watch all my movies during the summer. Right in a row.

Nope! Ah, the days of just sitting down watching Cartoon Network and staying up 2-3 days at a time just cause....

Crash dulled my sense of subtlety permanently.

Have you seen Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance or Oldboy, Starba?

          They're pretty intense...

As a whole, the new "War of the Worlds" isn't that great. But it sports the most intense movie sequence I can think of when Tom Cruise is running through the city away from the first tripod, dodging rays and running through clouds of people-dust. Watching that in the theater was worth it for just that one scene.

I wish I could have wasted away in front of the television, but work unfortunately holds me prisoner. I haven't seenm most of those, but Howl's Moving Castle was awesome, Chronicles of Narnia felt like it had no soul, Crash made me cry and X-Men 3 was dissapointing. It made me weep for the corniness of it all.

So, how was New World...I was kinda unsure of it, but still have some curiousity.

Crash was the worst hollywood movie I've ever seen.

I'd rather watch that censored version of Titanic that editted out Kate Winslet's breasts than ever watch Crash.

By the way, New World sucked. Very badly.

Out of those movies; loved Match Point and Kong...and not much else, New World was good...er..allright.

Memoirs of a Geisha was "astoundingly average".

                      And Freedomland was awful!!!

This week, I've watched Ordinary People, Blade Runner and Pulse, one of those movies is now one of my new favorites, can you guess which one?

Blade Runner, because it's better than every movie mentioned so far.

I spent the summer so far with:

                        Mission: Impossible III
                        X3
                        Shaolin Soccer
                        Kung Fu Hustle
                        Escape From New York
                        Escape From L.A.
                        Highlander
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex
                        Eureka 7
                        Read or Die
                        Gargoyles Season Two
                        some other stuff I'm sure

And Battlestar Galactica Season One, which is better than every movie I've seen in the past several years.

I spend like 90% of my time in front of my TV all year round and I don't even have cable. And probably even more than that this summer since I didn't end up taking any summer classes and haven't gotten a job yet. I don't watch many movies though, mostly tv series.

I agree. It was pretty neat. Though absolutely predictable.

I HATE ALL MOVIES THAT ARE POPULAR OR WON OSCARS OR ANY OTHER MOVIE AWARDS EXCEPT INDIE MOVIE AWARDS THOSE ARE OKAY.
