    Under the Sea

    HYDROPOLIS

    From Wikipedia:
Hydropolis is an underwater hotel being built in Dubai, and scheduled to open at the end of 2006. It costs £300 million, has 220 suites and covers 2.6 square kilometres, about the size of London's Hyde Park. It will be about 20 meters under the sea, or 44 feet. It has been planned that it will produce its own clouds, to protect guests from the Persian Gulf sun. One of the reasons it is being built is so that people who cannot swim will be able to explore the wonders of the sea.

    POSEIDON

    http://www.poseidonresorts.com/
We estimate that the room rate for a standard 550 square foot undersea suite will be $1500 per night. The Poseidon Undersea Resort will be the only place where you can spend a night underwater on the sea floor with a spectacular view. The "once in a lifetime" experience will be worth every penny. We will also have 22 land-based, on-shore bungalows each with private pool. The cost of these units will be approximately $500 per night. Staying a few nights in the shore bungalows and then one or two nights in an underwater suite will make a vacation at Poseidon more affordable.

    CITY OF DREAMS

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4559531.stm
The underwater casino will form part of a huge gaming and entertainment complex - dubbed the 'City of Dreams' - which will cost eight billion Hong Kong dollars (US$1bn, £545m) to create.

Ha! I knew there had to be a Little Mermaid reference in here somewhere!

The oceans are calling us home and all you can think of is The Little Mermaid!

Yeah, Hydropolis looks like the bee's knees.

            Here's to an Undersea Palace.

What happened to the good old days when man considered himself part of nature and not superior to nature?

I hope we dont start like, colonizing the ocean.

Dubai has got to be an amazing place to visit. I watched Globe Trekker on PBS the other weekend, and she was visiting the UAE. She went to Dubai. One of the places she went to was the ofice of the contractor that is making The Palm. Its a man made island shaped like a palm tree. Its for private homes and such and the way its made, its house will have its own private beach. Check it out:

                            I don't see how that's relevant.

That'd be cool if it wasn't an insanely expensive hotel.
