Is blocking your grandma from our email mean?

I recently got a new email, hoping to cut out some spamming. However, I forgot about my family. My mom and grandma constantly send me junk. Everytime a weird rock is unearthed or a bear in sited in Michigan, I get an email from my mom. Everytime something horribly cute and sentiment catches her eye, my grandma sends it to me. I don't even read half the emails they send me. It drives me mad! I wish I could block them.

Now that I ranted, I feel better.

Just let them know you'd love to hear from them, but only about family-related stuff. That worked for me back in the day...

My Dad sends me religious emails. I am afraid to delete them lest God strike me down.

My mom does that sometimes. I don't even bother to read them.

My mom always sends me penis-enlargement e-mails.

Haha, my grandparents are way too old to learn to use computers now. But I don't think I would ever block them, I'd feel too bad.

...I think thats MY mom send you those, Mora.

I'd try that, except then they would have nothing to do and die of boredom, and I would have less to complain about. Complaining is my hobby.

My grandpa did that for a while when I got my own internet/email. But then I lightly told him off, and things have been better.

I had a friend who loved to send me forwarded stuff. Eventually I just started deleting anything that started with FWD: from her.

What I hate is when I send myself penis enlargment e-mails.

Isn't that better than someone else knowing your penis is inadequate?

What I really hate are chain letters? My friends (who don't have my email now) kept sending these email with that essential said "send this to a bunch of your friends and see how many send it back to see how my friends you have". First off, friends don't sent each this crap, it's mean. And second, I don't need a email to tell me I have no friends.

I block anybody that continues to send forwards and chain letters after I ask them to stop. Currently, both my parents and several friends, not to mention countless relatives, are blocked.

Hopefully they don't have important things to send through e-mail.

i block everyone who sends me crap i dont want. i dont deal in forwards, i dont deal in crap emails that are not worth my time.

unless its business, or an old friend asking about how im doing and if i want a coffee, then i dont want it in my inbox. ive tried to make it clear to everyone i know on how i think about this issue but some disobay and they are sadly disalowed to email me and their stuff hits the spam filter.

sorry to them, but no one wants garbage on their door step, wasting their time trying to remove it so why would i want the same in my inbox?

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

I normally let them know I don't like junk mail. I wouldn't block her, but make sure you filter her e-mail..
(like NEVER open anything with a fwd or a re..) Talk to them both too, it might help.

My mom sends me porn links, and sometimes penis enlargements, so don't feel too left out Mora...

They would eventually realize that you are not seeing their E-mails... and things could back fire. Nothing serious, just hurt feelings, but that would be mean. As for me, yesterday was the first time I looked at my E-mail in a year....
