Okay, this is the only place I could think of coming to. I know a lot of you don't like me, I don't like you either; but y'know.

So, I'm all for gay rights and everything. I believe in it very strongly, actually. But now that I've found out my brother is gay. It's different. It makes me sick thinking of him with another guy, and if any of you have had to deal with this. Your help would be appreciated.

I mean, we've always known it, but now I know it, y'know?

I think I'd be mildly distrubed. Umm, how did you find out? Is he open about it? Maybe you could have a discussion of why he prefers guys over girls.

I think that's even more disturbing. (I just know I'm gonna get flamed at for that.)

Someone at another board had the same problem. Can't remember what he did about it. The old topic (along with the board it was in) is gone as the board had made a move since. I think one suggestion was to somehow lead into it with casual conversation. ....Actually, that might've been my suggestion, so it might not be a good one.

I assume you probably wouldn't like thinking about your brother having sex no matter who it was with. Cause ya know it's your brother and all. I sure as hell have no interest in thinking about my sister having sex. Or my mother, dear god no!

It's natural to be uncomfortable when you first find out someone you know is gay. Especially somebody as close as a sibling. In time you'll get used to it, it might take years or months, who knows. Don't feel guilty about it but don't be a jerk about it either (i'm not saying you have so far). But yeah try to avoid thinking about any of your relatives having sex because that way lies madness.

Talking about it is good but if you know any other gays (guys or girls) it might be better to talk to them until you get more comfortable, then talk to your brother. Since a lot of the discomfort is caused by your closeness with your brother then talking to someone else can be easier.
