    Pandas go to Europe

    Guys, I am in AUSTRIA.
    And it is awesome.
I'm in Salzburg, the town where The Sound of Music was filmed, doing a month of summer study. Kinda homesick, but its still really awesome here.

I had a bratwurst sub sandwich the length of my shoulder to my wrist last night. Things dont get much cooler than that.
Also, most people here like classial music. Between that, and the fact that it's rained every single day i've been here, this place is pretty cool.

    Beer is cheaper than coke.
However, I tried austrian beer, and its just as disgusting to me as american beer is.
    Sad.

Well, yeah. Thought I'd let you all know. Austria is full of win and awesome.

Oh, and.. sorry about our similar names.
I was a pavilion regular back on the old boards, and adopted the panda as my symbol a long long time ago. And then I came back.. and another panda was here.

      no hard feelings?

How's the weather there? It must be nice to get out of the country.

Remember to not overload on the wieners

Its constantly raining. Which is ok, I think.
That was one of two weiner dishes i've had thus far, so its all good.
I had weinerschnitzel, too, but that's a bit decieving - it's made from veal, not pork. It's reaaaaaaaaaally awesome though.

I'm jealous. One of my good friends in middle school was from Austria (her last name was Fougerousse), and she taught me this nifty drinking song. It sounds like a cool place, I hope I can check it out in person one day.

            Take some pictures!

              I most certainly shall.
And yeah, they sure do love their alcohol here.
Which is fine, its kinda given me a new perspective on it... they seem to encourage moderation in drinking and find drunkeness disgusting. Its a nice break from the american approach of "HEY MAN OH MY GOD LETS CHUG 200494 CASES OF BEER AND GET WAAASTED." Maturity is such a good thing.

I think some other countries are more civilized than we are.

So, what time is it there right now?

Too bad you are not in Czechoslovakia (err...the Czech Republic)...you would be in the birthplace of Pilsner beer (of which Miller is a type). I'm guessing they drink a lot of dark beers in Austria....yum!!! Then again, I don't drink anymore, and haven't done so for almost 4 years. You see, the "moderation" thing was a little hard for me...

The girl I met from Austria said they don't drink much dark beer, but damn could she drink. She was all like "YOUR AMERICAN BEER IS PETTY AND THIN" and "HOW DOES ONE GET DRUNK ON SUCH WATER?"

Actually, she didn't say those things, but she did say that our beer was not nearly as strong as the kind they have in Austria.

That's, cool, Az. I've tried wienerschnitzel before. It's pretty keen.
