i woke up today in time to see a power serge crash all my electronic equipment. my ipod seamed to have gotten fried during this time. i cant turn it on, i cant make it work and it wont update or reconize itself.

has this happend to anyone?

i hope my warentee will cover this peice of trash or im going to make a scene!

anyone have any fun names for the ipod? like crapod, jewpod, japle, craple?

iPods have been designed to last pretty much for the life of their warranty and that's it. They're really not designed to take much abuse.

I see no reason why I'd call it anything but an iPod. I love both my Shuffle and my Nano.

That (or something like it) has happened to just about every other person I know who owns an iPod, minus myself. Most of them still had it under warranty. One of them did the old 'buy a new one and return it with the crap one in the box'.

I got to get my iPod laser engraved when I bought it, that's kind of like naming it I guess. I had my name and phone number engraved on, that way if I ever lose it the person who finds it will know who they're not returning it to.

If you mean actual names, then yeah my iPods both have names. I'm not going to disclose them because they'd show just how much of a nerd I am.

I was simply referring to calling all iPods some odd name.

I named my iPod Cerpin Taxt. I really like the Mars Volta.
all iPods are supposed to come with lifetime warranties. you don't have to have any paperwork or anything, just contact Apple or go to an Apple Store and they'll look up your iPod's serial number and (probably) replace it.
