Armored Core 4 goes to Sega

Agetec's Mark Johnson revealed today that Sega has obtained the rights to Armored Core 4.

I'm sad, and hope that Sega will do a good job with the series. I dont think they're the types that would do the bug-fixes and enhancing agetec did with nexus and formula front though.

Well, From Software will still develop the games, Sega is just the US publisher now.

I have a bad feeling about this. Armored Core doesn't seem like Sega's thing to me. Only time will tell, I guess.

This is kind of sad news, I never got into the AC series. But if Agetec will survive this next generation.

Well, the voice acting definately won't improve. And it is sad to see Agetec, who's already put so much work into the series as it is, lose rights to publish it. But this could mean we might get to see a fully online version of the game. Even though I'll never buy a PS3.

Mark says it isnt. the series cost a small fortune to license and such.

It was very likely done by choice. Fortunately, Sega is a great company and I'm sure we'll be seeing great things from them, especially since Agetec's former president is now Sega of America's president.

Also, it's slated for both PS3 and 360.

nope. Armored Core Last Raven (ironic that it's agetec's last AC game for now) is set for a june 13th release at 29.99 though. its gonna be a bit sad playing it, knowing we wont see the same crew work on an AC game for the forseeable future.
