I think this guy forgot that God never actually told anyone in the Bible to purposely go throw themselves at lions. The people he protected were always thrown in with them unwillingly.
Okay, God, I think we are ready for another massive flood. You know, to cleanse this world of stupid people like that. Seriously, I'm waiting... any time now... come on, I'm tired of hearing stupid people doing stupid stuff like this.

"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."
Saying "God will save me, if he exists," is pretty much asking for something bad to happen. It is kind of like saying "This can't get any worse!" Of course, when someone would say either, they aren't approaching a ****ing lioness!!!

If he was depending on God to save him, that implies a belief in God. I'd think if he was really leaning toward atheism, he'd have stayed out of the lion enclosure. Sounds like a crisis of faith to me.
So you're a fish out of water...
Keep swimming.
What else can you do?
