Anime I just got...

I'm not as huge an anime fan as most around here, but I like some of it. I wanted to buy some new anime, but I didn't know what was good. I ended up getting something called, "Kino's Journey." Has anyone else seen this, and if so, what did you think? I thought it was sort of minimalist, philosophical, meditative, and it leaves you with a sort of somber feeling. In short, I liked it a lot. Anyone else feel the same way?

BTW, I have a feeling at least one person is going to say they watched it and was bored to tears. I personally want to see something a little different in my anime. I HATE giant robot anime, and the samurai stuff does nothing for me either. *shrug*

I really enjoyed it.

I recently got the latest volume of Dective Conan and My-Hime. I love Conan for the murders. My-Hime is just a fun little anime with fanservice.

Still have to wait for Ghost in the Shell 2nd gig dvds....

Best Buy is defintally the best place for buying anime. Suncoast closed down all their stores around me, and Best Buy has a big selection with very good prices.

Try Gundam, Evangelion, Macross Plus, Big O and Samurai X.

Unless those are the ones that do nothing for you.

I got the Kino's Journey thinpak and thought it was a hidden delight.

The movie doesn't add much, though.

I do hope you're saying that having not seen the whole series yet.

Otherwise you might be a bit disappointed.

After episode 15 the "fun" stops and "needless, arbitrary drama" starts.

The fanservice does not save it at all. Just like Usagichan de Cue.

I think the MovieStops in my area have decent anime selections. But I am far from a connoisseur

I just found Mai Hime to be shallow and derivative. Same with Mai Otome.

I would love to get "The Kindaichi Case Files" anime over here. Another murder mystery anime based on the manga, which can be found over here.

I still need to finish a couple of series on dvd.

I think it would be great to have the time to watch all the aviable anime....I feel like I am missing out on some of them.
