Question, I thought E3 was open only to journalists, but every now and then I see a few posts in various forums from people that were at E3. Are they journalists too or did I miss something?

You have to have an in with the gaming business. Two years ago me and my co-workers were offered passes to go for working in the media department of Best Buy. I couldn't go because I was still 17, but my supervisor and another guy went. They got stricter this year and none of us could go. I guess it changes who exactly they let in year to year.Do what you wish -

Journalists is a very loose term. You'd be surprised who qualifies under that. In addition you also have friends of the companies and invited guests.
